2012 Doomsday Hysteria

In all of the 2012 hysteria going on, there are posts that claim everything is going to fall apart, life will be destroyed, and anyone who doesn't believe it is asleep and naive. Other posts state that none of that fun disaster movie stuff is going to happen, it's all a dark fantasy and that anyone who believes it is an idiot.
I say don't worry about it, regardless of what happens. If you think a brown dwarf star called Nemesis is going to crash into the Earth, are you making a difference by worrying about it and trying to spread the word? No! Just forget about it.
There really is no point in arguing about it either. Let the doomsayers believe in the coming apocalypse, and let the skeptics be skeptical.
My advice to everyone is simply not to worry about this. Worry about making the world a better place for future generations. Don't waste your time building survival shelters, reading 2012 survival books and watching Nibiru videos on online. None of that will do you any good, regardless of what happens. Don't worry about rogue planets, comets, gamma busts, supernovas, and the likes. Those are disasters we cannot control, and therefore it is insane to panic about them.
Further, many believe that cosmic disasters are the least of our worries, because the greatest threat to our survival is ourselves, and I agree. We have the power to destroy ourselves in many different ways. On the other side of the coin is the equal amount of power which we have to save ourselves. By focusing on this, we have the ability to significantly reduce our chances of destruction, and that's the beauty of if all. At this time, the odds are stacked against our survival. But by taking action on the issues we have control over, we can lower our odds of destruction. We may even have the ability to tip the scales slightly in our favor over time.
So don't worry about 2012 and other doomsday predictions. There have been many of these so called "prophesies" over the centuries, and they all had different reasons and there own evidence to support it, but they turned out to all be false. This is why we need to not worry about it, at least not the cosmic and natural disasters that are beyond our control. There are many more preventable disasters on which we should focus.
I will admit, I did post this because I knew that 2012 is a very highly searched topic on the internet. But the idea was to speak to those who are worried about it. There are so many posts about how to prepare for 2012, how to survive 2012, what is supposedly going to happen. Why not something that says "Okay, stop and think about this for minute before you go crazy." I hope this helps somebody out there.
